I’ve been using Boxee Alpha for a while now and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the beta version next month, but fortunately, I didn’t have to. Someone leaked the beta version and it’s available for download now. click here to get it. (Mac version)
I personally think it’s a big improvement from the alpha and much more user friendly. the menu bar is now accessible from anywhere and instead of having to go to each of many different video apps (hulu, netflix, fox, etc.) to find something to watch, Boxee now gathers everything for you so you can simply browse through either movies or tv shows, and boxee will automatically locate where the video stream is available. Another key feature is the Queue, it allows you to add your favorite tv shows and will add every new episode directly to queue section of the home screen.
Plus it still has a lot of great apps like youtube, Facebook, twitter, pandora and a long list of others. Boxee is quickly becoming the perfect online media hub.
